WHAT A GREAT SHOW!
The SIAL Canada show which took place May 11, 12 and 13 in Toronto, Canada at the Metro Convention Centre was an excellent show. There were more than 12,000 visitors from many countries (61 in fact). There were vendors galore (697 from 37 countries). Not too bad for a food show in Toronto!
The innovation section was OK. Some interesting packaging.
I liked a product called Creative from Portugal.
They are a range of products that are vinegar condiment with Mango, or lemon and honey etc….
A very simple design, and packaging as well. The product basically sells itself in this case with beautiful fresh colours.
Another product I really liked for the design was Maison Orphée. Virgin Olive oils. Very nice packaging and strong colour coding as well.
Summer Fresh was in the Innovation section as well for their new Meal-To-Go offering.
I think having SIAL here in Toronto is very beneficial the fact that we are closer to the US border.
One of the booths that stood out the most was O’Sole Mio, which was created and produced by Muna Design.

The challenge there was to represent both the main line O’Sole Mio as well as their sub-brand Vive Bene.
Our creative direction was to utilize the blues tones of the Vive Bene and the greens tones from the main O’Sole Mio, which is their main line.
.
Trying to convey freshness, which is what they are all about.
They have superior products and with the right sauce it truly is gourmet.
I’m sure that all exhibitors and visitors are looking forward to the next SIAL show where they can show off their latest innovations.
